Yes, UFOs exist. So what are we going to do about it?

You don't need to prove the existence of UFOs at all. Assume they exist. Now reflect deeply on who they are, how they might behave and what motivates them. This is something anyone with an imagination can do better that an 'objective observer' and this is important work.

The contact with an alien society will not be between scientists in dark glasses playing Moog organs at night to neo con aliens on spaceships. Contact it is the work of imaginative sociologists, psychologists, writers and artists, of people with empathy and understanding and maturity.

The people who argue against UFOs often use lazy arguments. They seem to want to ignore many authoritative and reliable witnesses.

The point about the UFO phenomenon is that, as far as ordinary people are concerned, it does not affect our lives and therefore it is simply not relevant.

In my own single witness of what seems to have been a UFO, I simply couldn't see the relevance of it. It hung like a ball bearing in the sky. What can you say? Nothing.

We humans need to assume motives to each other and assume shared knowledge. We can't communicate otherwise, we have to be able to model each others thoughts before we speak. But what Theory of Mind (TOM) can we have of an alien race. Anything we think about them will simply be speculation. We can have a million questions. But the problem remains.

But assuming  they have been around and they are here and if they do have an objective, then presumably it's rather dramatic. They probably haven't gone to so much trouble to come here just to hang out or 'study us'. The truth is probably more cataclysmic. The truth about the alien presence is probably closer to a combination of the reality of  the Hitchhiker's Guide and the Culture.

The problem with most scientists is that though they have often claimed the authority to organize society along rational lines. Their forebears, the priesthoods, with the best calendars actually did organize society.

But scientists as a group are a sample of humanity known for being rather conservative, male, intolerant and lacking in feeling and common humanity. They are accustomed to objectifying and classifying. Of course the scientific vision of extraterrestrial society will be impoverished and based on categorization and quantification.

Think how at most levels numbers and rationalism in our societies are mere enabling factors, not key determinants, in the way we relate to each other and get what we want.

If you want to be afraid, be afraid of a culture that is rational without being fully moral and human. A Nazi culture, a culture that employs selective breeding, a society that ultimately, in the name of rationalism will turn back on itself and chew on its own genetic tail. That creates itself. Pekineses and Great Dane. Aldous Huxley's human breeding farms. An ET culture that was 'rational' would be proto-fascist, of course.

We can't see extraterrestrials,  they are hidden behind the mirror of their alien minds. So we see ourselves in the mirror. Hollywood, revealingly, sees Aliens as imperialists and invaders because they see their reflection. US grunts fight alien grunts:

'Grunt, grunt, grunt.' So to speak.

What is the evidence we have not for the existence of ETs on Earth. There seems to be quite a bit of that, but where is the evidence for the way they think and what they want and how they see the world? That's the non sequitur. That's why the problem of an alien presence simply doesn't compute.

Going back to the evidence for UFOs however
UFOs even buzzed Washington in 1952. There were Foo Fighters trailing some of the planes in WWII. Jimmy Carter and Perez de Cuellar saw them.

Just because something is highly improbable, doesn't mean it isn't true. Lots of ordinary people suffer from a dire case of high probability thinking.

All sheep are white until you see one black sheep and you have to revise your conclusion. ie. Not all sheep are black. The most amazing thing of all are the vast alien bases on the dark side of the moon. Mitchell,  Aldrin Cooper are astronauts who say the UFO phenomenon is real: Russian cosmonauts confirm the UFO phenomenon is real with personal testimony.
Many cosmonauts agree with them:

Often rational skeptics have a problem with accepting the existence of UFOs despite the witness testimonies and the evidence. Kuhn's observation helps explain why:

A scientific community cannot practice its trade without some set of received beliefs. These beliefs form the foundation of the "educational initiation that prepares and licenses the student for professional practice". The nature of the "rigorous and rigid" preparation helps ensure that the received beliefs are firmly fixed in the student's mind. Scientists take great pains to defend the assumption that scientists know what the world is like...To this end, "normal science" will often suppress novelties which undermine its foundations. Research is therefore not about discovering the unknown, but rather "a strenuous and devoted attempt to force nature into the conceptual boxes supplied by professional education"

I challenge you to listen to the venerable Dr. Robert Wood, Retired Deputy Director of McDonnell Douglas on the evidence for UFOs (IFOs) and not seriously consider the very real possibility that UFOS are real and they are of extraterrestrial origin.VideoOthers down the right hand side.Listen to Captain Salas who worked in a Missile Base on how UFOs shut down his and other missile bases. What happened?Videos in sequence down the right hand side

  1. Dear Sir or Ma'am,

The comments pertaining to Robert Salas' claims as a UFO expert as a result of his experiences during the alleged UFO events at Echo Flight and Oscar Flight in March 1967 fail to take into account the widely known facts of Salas' very poor credibility and his numerous lies to the public. There were no UFOs involved at Echo Flight at all, and the incident at Oscar Flight never even happened. The men who have spread these lies, primarily Robert Salas and Robert Hastings, have done so for their own benefit, and they have proven to be both dishonest and wrong on numerous occasions in numerous ways. I would recommend that if you are truly interested in knowing what actually occured at Malmstrom AFB in March 1967 you go to the following URLs, where you can download at no cost the book and supporting articles discussing the case:

    http://www.scribd.com/doc/49495918/The-Bunny-s-Retort-by-James-Carlson

I would also recommend that you examine the numerous interviews and articles at the Reality Uncovered website: http://www.realityuncovered.net/ -- the top seven articles all discuss the events at Echo Flight in March 1967, and include interviews with both the commander and the deputy commander at Echo Flight on March 16, 1967 when the missiles were taken offline by an electronic noise pulse.

A lot information regarding this incident can also be found at the Reality Uncovered forum, in particular the Echo Flight Incident thread: http://www.realityuncovered.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1688&sid=fb3fd24f098c0f3bc35595ea1b41a146.

Tim Hebert, an ex-USAF missileer himself, has also written some enlightening articles regarding the case on his blog at: http://timhebert.blogspot.com/

Dr. David Clarke, for many years an accepted expert regarding the British military forces' investigations of the UFO phenomenon for many years, has also discussed this case in the context of the "UFO and NUkes" connection asserted by author Robert Hastings. You can read his article on the subject at http://drdavidclarke.blogspot.com/2010/11/flat-earth-nukes.html.

The lies currently being spread by Robert Hastings and Robert Salas have not merely been outed as an irresponsible interpretation of the actual events, they have been repeatedly proven to be lies as a result of both witness testimony and documented evidence. There is no doubt whatsoever that they created this case for their own benefit. There were no UFOs involved -- it is a lie, and nothing more.

As for other possible UFO cases, I doubt that alien spacecraft were involved, but other than that, I really have no opinion. Frankly, I don't know very much about other cases, and would never, for that reason, venture to put forth my own opinions as more viable than another's.

    Thank you,

To: Mr & Mrs J. Hall, Box 49 Eikenhof (TVL) Johannesburg Afrique du Sud. 28.3.76 Dear John and Nola, Today a week ago we were still in New Delhi with Eve and Tony and the boys and the whole thing looks like a dream. We arrived on the 28.2 in New Delhi and were happy to see the whole family fit and in good health. The boys have grown very much, Phil is just about the size of Tony and the twins are above average. We stayed untill the 22nd March, as our visa ran out and we did not want to go through all the ceremony of asking for an extension. It also got hotter and I don't know how I would have supported the heat. The extra week would also have passed, so we decided not to go to all the trouble with the authorities and leave on the 22nd. I cannot tell you how happy we have been to see such a lovely family, so happy and united. It is rare to experience sucha thing and we have both all the reasons to be proud of them (when I say goth I mean you and us ). There is su

Guardian: Kate Harding's reactionary censorious blog on CiF

It should go without saying... ....that we condemn the scummy prat who called Liskula Cohen : "a psychotic, lying, whoring ... skank" But I disagree with Kate Harding , (in my view a pseudo blogger), posting her blog in the Guardian attacking bloggers. It's a case of set a thief to catch a thief. The mainstream media is irritated by bloggers because they steal its thunder and so they comission people like Kate Harding , people with nothing to say for themselves, apparently, other than that they are feminists, to attack bloggers. I'm black. So I can legitimately attack "angry white old men". I'm a feminist, so I have carte blanche to call all anonymous bloggers "prats." Because yes, that is her erudite response to bloggers. No I don't say that the blogging medium can't be used to attack progressives in whatever context. Of course it can. But to applaud the censorship of a blogger by a billion dollar corporate like Google, and moreov

Guardian books blog fringe: Norman Mailer

FLASHING THE GUARDIAN -- A BOOKS BLOGGERS' REBELLION :  The unheroic censor with a death wish Part 1: In which Norman Mailer stars in an experiment in search engine optimisation By ACCIACCATURE 3 February 2009 When Norman Mailer died in 2007, informed opinion – in the blogosphere, people who had read at least two of his books – was split. The army of readers who saw him as one of the most despicable misogynists writing fiction in the 20th century was perfectly matched by warriors on the other side, who raged that the label wasn’t just unwarranted but tantamount to heinous calumny. Before commenters returned to bitching-as-usual, tempers were lost on literary sites all over the net in debating temperatures high enough to bring to mind tiles burning off space shuttles re-entering Earth’s atmosphere. After I'd agreed to a spontaneous suggestion by our good friend Sean Murray -- a pioneer and stalwart of the comments section of The Guardian’s books blog – that we re-
