The social Darwinist genie is out of the bottle again.

Whether Fascists  misunderstood Darwin or not, they were inspired by him.  And Darwin himself was a racist. The method of natural selection as proposed by Darwin, is a logical and common sense one and easy for a layperson to understand,  though he or she may not understand the ramifications and implications of Darwin's theory.  However, the effect of the social philosophy derived from Darwinism has been catastrophic. It has destroyed all viable notions of the good, as such, and has turned morality into the plaything of evolutionary psychologists, anthropologists and sociologists - the phrenologists and Lysenkoists of our day.  Unfortunately for the Darwinian purists, who protest so much, Darwin himself speculated in racial futures. He himself was a social Darwinist. Read Charles Darwin, in his own words: "At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate, and

David Cameron loses, has lost the debate on Europe - the EU - the European Community

What has the European Union ever done for us? David Cameron argues against greater integration with Europe. David Cameron: They've bled us white, the bastards. And what have they ever given us in return? Nick Clegg: Well, the single market. That's a pretty good idea. There are no tariffs on UK products sold in Europe you know. David Cameron: Oh yeah, yeah they gave us that. Yeah. That's true. Gordon Brown: And they've got rid of borders in Europe. We can work and live wherever we like in any European country. No problem. Nick Clegg: Oh yes... movement within Europe, David, you remember what the travel used to be like. Take out your passport. Why are you here? David Cameron: All right, I'll grant you the single market and free travel are two things that Europe has done... Nick Clegg: And the great European food. Italian, French, Spanish. Lovely. Where would Jaimie Oliver be? David Cameron: (sharply) Well yes obviously the food... the food goes without saying

David Cameron Loses the debate on Europe

There are no tariffs on UK products sold in Europe you know. David Cameron: Oh yeah, yeah they gave us that. Yeah. That's true. Gordon Brown: And they've got rid of borders in Europe. Why are you here? David Cameron: All right, I'll grant you the single market and free travel are two things that Europe has done... Nick Clegg: And the great European food. Italian, French, Spanish. Luvely. Where would Jaimie Oliver be? David Cameron:(sharply) Well yes obviously the food... the food goes without saying. No one wants to go back to what we had before. But apart from the single market

Strange sandwich

I'm am a little bit dismayed by the sandwich I slapped together this morning. I ate it on the train and it slapped me about the cheeks and woke me up.

David Cameron loses / has lost debate on the BBC between the party leaders of the Conservatives, Labour and the Liberal Democrats

[Live debate commentry at the bottom of this post] Red Toryism is a return to the smugness of noblesse oblige. "Will the Bullingdon Club be dining with you tonight Master Cameron? If so I'll cover the floors with plastic to stop the vomit. "Yes they will my man. Have a shilling for initiative. If only the rest of the hoi poloi took the initiative like you. Britain would be a much better place to live in for decent people like us." "Thank you young Master you are so kind." Do we really want to go back to this? David Cameron, you lost. We don't want to play those old Edwardian parlour games. Cameron is worse, far worse than Thatcher because of his "red" Tory philosophy. In fact this philosophy is not progressive at all. It builds on Fukuyama's triumphalist idea of the " End of History" . Red Toryism constitutes a serious attempt at retrenching Capitalism in Britain. Most ordinary people think something that probably goes
Monday 31st May 1982 Dearest Dad and Nola, and Mike, John, Dallis, Linda, Jack, Connie and nephews, nieces and cousins who may see this letter... It's my turn to say sorry for the long gap in the news from us. My only excuse is that the last two months have been quite an upheaval - not to say almost cataclysmic - up to early April at least. Today's a holiday, and time to catch up on contact with you. And as you'll gaher, I'd be grateful Dad and Nola, if you'd pass this round the family. It's a bad news, good news package- the good happily overtaking and wiping out the bad. The enclosed cutting with my photo is from  London's glossy meadia weekly, Campaign, an early April issue, and it tells the story accurately and fully as you would want, of the collapse of 8 Days, and the shabby behaviour of the boss, Shuabi. He never did cough up with even our March salaries, though we stand to recieve about two thirds of March salary in a few weeks time, when th
